Stan and his family have lived in the western suburbs since 1979. He has been active in civic and community affairs since college days when he was an intern recommended to the City of Carbondale by the Dean of the School of Communications, Southern Illinois University. Stan has served his community as an elected official in several capacities over the past 10 years. Prior to moving to Montgomery, Stan was an elected Trustee of the Batavia Public Library District. He also was elected and re-elected Precinct Committeeman of Batavia Township Precinct 20. Now, in Montgomery, Stan currently holds elective office as Precinct Committeeman for Sugar Grove Township 2 (western Montgomery) and he is Watch Area Leader of the Fairfield Way | Foxmoor Neighborhood Watch. Stan was elected Village of Montgomery Trustee April 5th, 2011 and sworn in May 9th, 2011.

Stan founded MontgomeryMatters.org, a community service website offering information of public and commercial interest to the Montgomery area. He also provides free e-mailing lists designed to serve residents of the Cambridge Foxmoor, Fairfield Way and Lakewood Creek subdivisions. He frequently attends public meetings and is active in his neighborhood. Stan is a founding member of the Fairfield Way | Foxmoor Neighborhood Watch and received a Certification of Training from the National Neighborhood Watch Institute. In August 2011, the Fairfield Way | Foxmoor Neighborhood Watch placed third in the National Sherriff's Association award competition.
