Is It Time To Stop The Train Whistles in Montgomery?

Some people have just about had it with the train whistles.

Day and night, about 20 trains roll through Montgomery. Each and every one is required to sound the air horns at every road crossing. If you live anywhere near these tracks, you know what we're talking about. Some Montgomery residents have begun to ask why so many neighboring towns (this photo at was taken in Sugar Grove) have applied for and obtained permission to post "No Train Horn" zones, yet Montgomery has not. Others say it would cost too much to make Montgomery IL a "No Whistle" zone. And some even say, "Hey, trains go through Montgomery, if you don't like train horns, why did you come here?"
